Following a period of significant transformation, Chesapeake Energy sought to rebuild its brand image and reconnect with investors, talent, and the community. The goal: tell a compelling story of innovation, resilience, and forward-thinking energy.
Our team at Publicis Hawkeye developed “The Power of Why”, a brand film centered on the power of curiosity and the company’s visionary spirit. The video depicted a world where progress stalled—classrooms still taught a flat Earth, offices used abacuses instead of computers, and horse-drawn carriages filled highways—all due to no one ever asking “why.” The film closed by reinforcing Chesapeake’s culture of innovation and optimism for the future.
I partnered with a copywriter to co-develop the concept, build the pitch, and storyboard the spot. After client approval, I remained hands-on throughout production—contributing to director and casting decisions, wardrobe styling, and on-set art direction to ensure the creative vision was fully realized.
